Japan’s Tetra Aviation received a hundred-grand “disruptor award” on the GoFly private flight contest final 12 months, and has now offered its first business product at OshKosh: a 33-rotor Mk5 private eVTOL it hopes to start delivering to patrons in 2022.

The Mk5 is a light-weight single-seat lift-and-cruise-style plane working 32 vertical raise rotors distributed throughout lengthy, skinny wings on the entrance and rear of a small cabin, with a single pusher prop on the rear for cruise flight. Its body is principally aluminum, and the bodywork is a light-weight carbon fiber bolstered polymer with some aramid fibers in there too.
