Space-powered drones could soon help NHS in Sutherland

An illustration of drone powered supply of life-saving medical provides in NHS Highland might pave the best way for this high-flying operation to be initiated in Sutherland to assist beat Covid-19.

The unmanned fleet of drones took to the skies to ferry coronavirus assessments and samples, medicines, and different much-needed tools between medical practices in Argyll and Bute, a area which encompasses 1000’s of kilometres of shoreline and a number of other islands.

The challenge was supported by the European Space Agency’s (ESA) directorate of telecommunications and built-in purposes by means of its ESA Space Solutions programme, which helps European companies to “develop space-based concepts that enhance on a regular basis life”.
